Reading Camps
This summer, we’re offering a series of small-group reading camps designed especially for struggling readers who need extra support and a confidence-building approach to literacy. Our Short Vowel Camp helps early readers build a strong foundation with words like jump, spin, and chimp. Silent E Camp supports kids who are learning to read words like bike, cute, and skate, using proven, multisensory strategies. In Vowel Teams Camp, we focus on vowel combinations found in words like speed, beach, and spoon. R-Controlled Vowels Camp gives students the tools they need to decode tricky “bossy R” words like spark, bird, and burst. Multisyllabic Words Camp teaches kids how to break down longer words like cupcake, tiger, and napkin into readable chunks. And our Spelling Rules Camp helps students master the three great spelling rules (e-drop, y-rule, and doubling) so they can confidently read and spell words like biking, candies, and clapping.
All camps are taught by either Erin or Theo, experienced reading specialists trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Our lessons are engaging, affirming, and designed for neurodivergent learners—including those with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences.
The camps meet live on Zoom each weekday for one or two weeks.
