Leah Foell, B.A. Elementary Special Education, Orton Gillingham Tutor

(she/her)

Leah is trained to tutor online, working on reading and spelling with elementary students who live with dyslexia. During her time as a special education teacher, she was trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach.  While raising her children, she was a Family Catalyst at the Minnesota Association of Children’s Mental Health (MACMH).  She, then, supplemented her training with another Orton-Gillingham course at the International Dyslexia Association.  She has tutored students for 6 years, both online and in-person.

Leah gives her students the respect they deserve and a chance to learn to read!  Building a tutor-student relationship and making learning engaging are important. When a student sees their own success in small steps, they will be encouraged to go further along their way to becoming a good reader.

A reference letter from a parent reads, "I am deeply grateful for the positive impact Leah has had on my daughter’s education and confidence. She is an outstanding educator who brings both skill and heart to her work. I highly recommend her to any family seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring reading tutor."
