Multisensory Math Tutoring

Does your child feel lost in math class, even after trying their best? You’re not alone, and neither are they. At Changemakers, we specialize in compassionate, individualized math tutoring for students who learn differently. Whether your child has dyscalculia, dyslexia, ADHD, or simply needs more support than they’re getting at school, our multisensory, confidence-building approach is designed to meet them where they are. We help kids understand math deeply, not just memorize steps, and we’re here to partner with you every step of the way.

Is your child behind in math? Do they struggle to remember the steps of an algorithm once the class has already moved on? Is it hard for them to learn and recall math facts?

These are common challenges for the students we work with and ones that can be addressed through individualized instruction, multisensory strategies, and ongoing, structured practice like we provide in our 1:1 math tutoring.

At Changemakers, we offer one-on-one math tutoring that is carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Every lesson is designed from scratch so your child receives instruction that targets exactly what they need, when they need it. Whether your learner struggles with number sense, multi-step problem solving, or understanding the logic behind operations, we meet them where they are and build from there.

Our approach is deeply multisensory, using visual models, tactile materials, movement, and verbal reasoning to help students truly understand math, not just memorize steps. We specialize in working with students who are dyscalculic, dyslexic, or have other learning differences, and we know how to break down complex ideas into clear, manageable parts. Concepts are introduced in accessible, engaging ways, and we prioritize mastery of foundational skills before rushing into abstract procedures. Structured review and spiraled practice are built into every plan to support retention and long-term confidence.

Our dedicated math tutors, Meg and Erin, are proudly neurodivergent-affirming. Many of our students are autistic, have ADHD, or process information in nontraditional ways. We don’t just accommodate these differences—we welcome them. Our tutors bring patience, creativity, and flexibility to each session, adjusting pacing and teaching style to match the student, not the other way around.

Most importantly, we work to rebuild students’ relationships with math. Many come to us discouraged or anxious about the subject. With consistent support, individualized instruction, and an emphasis on what each student can do, we help them see themselves as capable math thinkers. When kids feel safe, seen, and supported, they start to believe in their own ability, and that’s where real learning begins.

If this sounds like your child, you’re not alone—and you’re not failing. You’re already doing so much to support them, and getting the right kind of help can make a world of difference. We would be honored to be part of your child’s support team. Reach out today for a free meet-and-greet to learn more about our tutoring or schedule a consultation—we’re here to help.
